Dr. Klinghammer can be remembered for many things, including hthe sharp sense of humor which never left him, even during his last days in the hospital.
During his final day of coherent speech, a new nurse came to look after him and asked what he wanted to be called.
"Tell her your name." His wife prompted when he seemed unable to answer.
"Jim." He replied.
"Erich." He was scolded. "You know your name isn't Jim."
"Then why did you ask me?"
