Already familiar with wildlife photography and just want to spend four hours taking incredible pictures? Wolf
Park's One-Day Photo Shoots are the answer. Shoots begin at 9:30 am
with a review of how to behave around the animals, and then you will
enter the enclosure for a period of supervised photography with our
main pack of wolves. Depending on weather, there will be a break for
lunch. Shoots end at approximately 5:00 pm.
The difference between this event and the One-Day Photography Seminar is that the Photo Shoots DO NOT include any instruction on how to take photographs of wildlife
(you will still get instruction on how to interact with the wolves).
The Photo Shoots assume you know how to use your camera and have taken
photographs of wildlife before, and center primarily around getting you
near the animals for great photography.
If you are interested in getting instruction on how to get wonderful photographs of wildlife, try the One-Day Photography Seminars, which include a one-and-a-half hour presentation by resident staff photographer Monty Sloan on how to get those great shots.
Our socialized wolves will allow photographers to get close enough
to touch them, so there will be many opportunities for portraits and
closeups. Our staff photographer will guide you through good photo
opportunities and have the wolves "pose" for you. There will also be
opportunity for "candid" and action photographs as well. Any camera,
from professional to disposable, is acceptable; if you have the option,
a 28-300 mm lens seems to work well. Bring LOTS of film!!
Participants must be 18 years of age, wearing long pants and closed-
toed shoes, no earrings or perfume, to enter the wolf enclosure. No
tripods are allowed; the wolves like to chew on them. Space is limited!! Sign up EARLY!!
If we receive your registration and there is no space left in the
seminar you choose, we will cancel your online order, and phone or
email you about choosing a different date.
Photography opportunities are rarely cancelled, but we will cancel
due to severe weather. If we do cancel, or if you cannot make the
event due to weather, your fees can be applied to a different seminar.
Photo shoots are held in light snow and in drizzle, so bring protection
for your camera.
Refund policy: In the event of cancellation, monies for this seminar will not be refunded, but may be applied to a future photography seminar.
CANCELLATION POLICY Wolf Park reserves the right to cancel a
seminar if there are fewer than 5 participants registered as of 30 days
before the start of the seminar. In the case of cancellation, we will
refund registration fees in full, or the participant can choose to
transfer into a different seminar.
